Seeking Benefits: Support Groups

It’s an assumption of benefits — a solider served his country, offered courage in the most tragic of circumstances. His actions were proven worthy; and a return home was to ensure security for the future. Enrolling within the Department of Veteran Affairs seemed the easiest way to obtain all promised rewards. He would surely receive what he deserved.

Instead, however, he finds himself now struggling: with no benefits given and no explanations provided. The soldier is without the support he’s earned — and this is as disheartening as the war he fought in.

It’s estimated that almost 9,000,000 individuals are involved with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Of these men and women, however, only 3,000,000 receive the expected benefits. A slightly higher average (5,000,000) qualify for minimal healthcare; and the rest are lost in the void between, unable to gain the help they need for themselves and their families.

Such numbers are startling — and spark the need for support groups.

Veterans lacking the necessary aid rely on support groups. These organizations are composed of professional counselors, attorneys and physicians: all working together to ensure that soldiers gain the respect they deserve. They tirelessly devote themselves to cases, giving legal and financial advice — as well as helping families cope with the emotional strains.

These efforts are imperative. Veterans often return home and are unable to develop a typical existence. They require care. Support groups ensure that they receive it — by obtaining the benefits they earned by serving their country and their cause.

Camelbak Hydration Packs

In the modern day and age, camelbak hydration packs have become popular. People enjoy being outdoors, therefore it is not surprising that hydration packs will come in handy. Camelbak hydration packs are known for its high quality standard. This pack has derived its name from the camel, called the ‘ship of desert’. The camel is known to store water during dry spells of weather in his hump. Camelbak hydration packs are made of superior quality material and are suitable to be used outside during activities such as backpacking, camping and long distance cycle tours. Sportsmen depend on camelbak packs to quench their thirst.

Camelbak packs can be kept against the waist or back, where the individual can sip water without using their hands. All you need to do is to use the bite valve on the camelbak pack, which lets the water flow through to your mouth from the hose. Camelback hydration packs are eco-friendly products allowing people access to fresh, clean water, compared to plastic bottled water, which is known not to be eco-friendly at all. Being closest to what is natural is a great satisfaction for many, and with the camelback hydration pack you are one step closer to being one with nature!

Not one person can say that an enrollment in the Navy doesn’t sound dignified and adventurous, especially when dealing with Spec Ops; but the truth is it’s a big decision. A decision that takes your ultimate commitment. Once you embark on that quest to enlist, you end up going through physical after physical, countless questions about your medical history, tests, and then after possiblyqualifying (which is never a definite yes), you go into boot camp, a place designed to literally break you down and build you back up from your toes right to your forehead—all without a cell phone, without a TV, and without being with your friends or family from home. As said before, it’s a big decision.

So, naturally, before you enlist, you want to make sure everything is set at home—if you have a day job, get military leave; if you have schooling, make sure you’re exempt from expulsion.

More importantly, if you have debts to your name, make sure your family doesn’t have to deal with it!

You have to remember that boot camp is a 6-month process. It’s a long time to not pay your debts off, and the countless calls can put a lot of stress on your loved ones’ heads. So this is what you do: consult a debt consolidation service and work on making it as easy and convenient as possible while you’re away. While you get income for enlisting, getting the debts paid off is a lot tougher than you think when no one else can get into your account. Consolidating your debts is a necessary step to make it less of a headache for all your family members back home.

If you have the will and heart for it, sign up. Be sure you know what you’re leaving behind, though. Otherwise, your country calls, and you are the patriot.

Women In Military

Women have come a long way in their lives. Women are capable, qualified and eligible for all kinds of jobs. It is true that men are stronger in terms of physique, when compared to a woman. But there is nothing that can match a women’s level of tolerance and endurance. Women have excelled in all walks of their personal and professional lives and they continue with this legacy even in the armed forces.

There are several women who have chosen to become air force pilots and fly fighter planes for the army. Just like men, these women also undergo army training to make their place in the army. Women may have to undergo different kids of tests and interviews before they join the armed forces. Women are also required meet the age, height and weight requirements for joining the services. They have to pass through a series of tests that test their physical strength. There are sessions of interviews to find about their moral character as well.

However women must remember to have some experience with physical exercises before they arrive for army training. This is because army workouts will stretch your existing levels of physical endurance. Several women have the capacity to run very fast for a long time, but there are several other exercises that are taught there. Women often falter while doing push ups. While in army training camps, you are not supposed to count the number of push ups you are doing but should continue to do so till your drill sergeant asks you to stop.

Men and women are not discriminated against in the army. They are treated as equals and are also eligible for equal punishments if they commit the same mistakes. Women should however not expect any kind of soft treatment from the drill sergeants because of their sex.
